"Crow's Feet: Life As We Age" July Podcast: Kidney Donation & End Of Life

More than 100,000 people in the United States are waiting for a kidney donation, according to government statistics. Most people wait three to five years for a kidney from the national transplant waiting list in the United States.


“It truly is the gift of life,” says Lee Bentch, who hosts the July 10th, Crow’s Feet: Life As We Age podcast featuring guests Carol Offen, an editor, writer, and live kidney donor, with Elizabeth Crais, an educator and researcher in speech and hearing sciences who is a kidney donation recipient. They’ll discuss the life-changing impact of organ donations and their new book, “Insiders Guide to Living Kidney Donation.”

On July 24, join host Jean Feldeisen as she talks with psychologist Lee Penn about his experiences working with patients in the later stages of life. Dr. Penn, currently a professor at Spalding University, has worked in a variety of settings including Veteran Affairs administration, nursing homes, private practice, and research, and currently teaches future psychologists.

These podcasts are part of a series featuring Crow’s Feet writers and others who talk about their experiences with aging. The series premiered on June 15, 2022.
