However questionable it may be that people who missed the September 29th Presidential Debate may wish to listen to it or those who did watch now listen to it in all its sonic mayhem, Spotify has partnered with C-SPAN to bring the 2020 Presidential and Vice Presidential Debates as podcasts to Spotify. The audio from the September 29th debate, and the subsequent Presidential debates and Vice Presidential debate, will be available for free, globally on Spotify.
For decades, C-SPAN has been a leader in bringing America’s political dialogues to audiences across the country. Now in partnership with Spotify, millions of listeners have the opportunity to hear from America’s Presidential candidates on the most pressing matters ahead of the 2020 election, even if those issues are actually never discussed and name-calling and interruptions dominate.
But the Spotify / CSPAN
partnership does enable millions of Americans to listen to the
candidates and make judgments on their character, values and integrity
through these podcasts. That's a valuable service that Spotify does offer despite the chaos in this election.
In the summer, Spotify, also in collaboration with CSPAN, made available key speeches from the Democratic and Republican National Conventions as podcasts onto its platform. These speeches from both the RNC and DNC were also available for free, globally on Spotify.
"Spotify has been in the forefront of harnessing podcasting to release timely news events so that podcasts have the immediacy that can attract even more listeners and cover breaking news events through an audio platform," notes podcasting consultant George Witt.
Vice President Mike Pence and Biden's running mate California Senator Kamala Harris are
scheduled to go head-to-head on Wednesday, October 7, in Salt Lake City,
Utah at 9 PM ET.
