According to Spotify, Nas and Miss Info will conduct candid interviews with guests ranging from the industry’s top artists to the pioneers who helped shape it. Listeners can expect one-of-a-kind stories and lessons from their careers, that guide listeners along the inception of hip hop and its influence on society and music as a whole.
Nas and Miss Info will also recount stories on their connection to hip hop and offer relevant insight on various topics including the art of MCing, regional identities (West Coast versus East Coast rap culture), the digital era, sub-genres of hip hop, global expansion and more.
In the first three episodes, Nas and Miss Info sit down with Nas’ brother Jungle, who shares stories about their childhood and mutual love of hip hop; Ice Cube, who reminisces about the formation of N.W.A., rocking the Apollo, and the long awaited Friday sequel; and Cordae, who shares his experiences traveling to Africa and growing up with Nas’ music.
Episode Descriptions
Episode 1: Jungle
Nas and Minya (aka Miss Info) get personal, as they are joined by Nas’ younger brother Jungle. The trio go back and forth about their favorite hip-hop groups (who was better, A Tribe Called Quest or N.W.A?), discuss why Nas’ first album release parties got shut down before they even started, and the Jones brothers share memories of growing up in Queensbridge surrounded by hip-hop stars like Roxanne Shante and MC Shan.
Episode 2: Ice Cube
In a conversation filled with mutual respect, Ice Cube is forthcoming about past rap beefs he's been involved in and his struggles getting the next Friday sequel made. But it’s not all serious. Nas, Miss Info and Cube share a laugh over outdated hairstyles and Cube reveals his little known connections to New York.
Episode 3: Cordae
One can feel the admiration in the room as Cordae gets to speak with one of his childhood rap heroes. (The North Carolina MC even raps lyrics to “I Can” back to Nas.) Cordae also tells Nas and Miss Info the reason he wanted to travel to Africa and explains the competitive mind state he’s in as he completes his next album.
