The Best Podcast Newsletters, Websites, And Books Published By Podcasters

For those ardent podcast listeners and podcasters, we recommend a several podcast news resources. All of these podcast news resources share one common attribute: a sincere desire to inform podcast listeners and assist podcasting creators. This list is by no means comprehensive and as podcasts and podcasting has grown its relevance and popularity, the number of podcast and podcasting resources will continue to expand.

This current resource list can act as a "landing site" for anyone interested in starting or growing a podcast or being an engaged podcast listener who would like to participate in the podcast community.

We will update with more podcast and podcasting resources next month. This list contains the best of the resources available known to us. We are welcome to considering more resources for podcasters and podcast fans, and report on your input in next month's recommendation article.

Podcast Newsletters -- You can't go wrong with any of these newsletters.

The Wave -- https://view.flodesk.com/pages/5f55391b22a9aa00261f9b77

The Wave is more than a newsletter but a website, learning tool, and podcasting academy for podcasters and an online community for podcast fans. The blog publishes regular and helpful articles on podcasting tips and resources and does an excellent job of soliciting helpful feedback from the podcast community.

The Wave is also a female-led podcast company, and clearly podcasting needs voices that celebrate different viewpoints and life experiences.

In April 2021, The Wave began SWELL, which is a new podcast editing service. SWELL pairs female audio engineers with female podcasters, so they can grow their shows by outsourcing the tedious tasks that prevent many podcast hosts from building their audience.

The Wave creators: "When we learned that only five percent of all individuals working in audio are women, we knew we needed to challenge the existing production standards and encourage more diversity in the audio industry. That's why we created an editing service where female podcasters could have confidence their voices are being edited only by other women. As a result, we are also creating job demand that will hopefully increase the number of women who want to become trained and work in audio production."

PodMov Daily -- https://podcastmovement.com/todays-issue/

PodMov (PM) offers podcasting resources, tips, and events. Its website describes its genesis this way:
"Podcast Movement began in 2014, when four podcasters and entrepreneurs had an idea. With a Kickstarter campaign and a positive attitude, they set out to create a vibrant event “for podcasters, by podcasters.” In the years since, PM has grown with the community's support to become the ultimate annual destination for diverse speakers, education, networking, and groovy parties."

In addition to its informational value, which is considerable, PodMov also offers event participation to grow a community of podcast fans, skilled professionals, and ardent listeners.

Hot Pod is now written and edited by Ashley Carman, and she is an excellent writer, reviewer, explainer, and tenacious enough to ask tough questions of the large podcast networks attempting to dominate the space.

There is a free subscription option and a paid one -- $7 per month or $70 per year.

Hot Pod is not afraid of diving into controversy and asking hard questions about podcasts and podcast hosts. Case in Point: Its recent article titled,"What you learn after 350 hours of Joe Rogan"
