Season Two of The Sunday Scaries Podcast Premieres: No More Monday Blues

What's the best day of the workweek? Friday afternoon, just as you leave work. It's clear sailing for the next two and a half days. What's the worst day of the week? Sunday night, just as your brain constructs horrific visions of Monday morning back at work.

But there's a podcast for that. Headspace Studios completed season one of its Sunday Scaries original podcast.

Headspace Studios has a mindfulness app for stress, anxiety, sleep, focus, fitness, and more. Now it's helping listeners combat anxiety at the start of the week by kicking off season two of Sunday Scaries.

The first episode will air on Sunday, April 24, just in time to battle the spring break blues.

Headspace mindfulness expert and teacher, Dora Kamau, is helping parents, students, professionals and all, kick start their week through guided meditation practices to help put their Monday anxiety and thoughts into action.

Tune into the launch of the new season trailer HERE.

And if listeners need a “pep-talk” throughout the week, the creators of the popular motivational hotline voiced by children (ages 5-12),  Peptoc Hotline, will be guest hosting the studio’s popular Radio Headspace.

Dora Kamau’s meditation and mindfulness journey began in 2010. After experiencing a series of unfortunate events, she started exploring holistic approaches to heal her mind, body and spirit. By 2016, Dora was fully committed to a daily practice and since then, she’s been on a mission to share her healing journey with others — creating spaces for people of all backgrounds to experience and embrace their full selves.

Dora’s desire to teach meditation stemmed from the lack of diversity in the mindfulness community, and a yearning for more wellness spaces with black representation. In 2019, she completed a formal 200-hr meditation teacher training with the Lab of Meditation.

Over the course of this program, her meditation practice evolved as she learned about mindfulness through the lenses of a trauma- informed practice, social and racial justice, clinical psychology, and science.

In 2017, she founded Bliss Your Heart, a women’s community based in Vancouver, BC. She hosted monthly in-person gatherings and events, and created a space for women to share their stories and connect through the power of conversation.

So if the thought of the Monday morning grind makes your anxiety radar spot "bogeys" in your mind, try Sunday Scaries.  The mindfulness podcast can help you, no matter what job you have. Unless you're in Congress. Then, you're really beyond help.
