Glassbox's "The God Pod" Podcast Host Receives Death Threats
The God Pod isn't just funny. It's irreverent, sarcastic, sardonic, caustic, and sharp-edged smart. But its God, Jesus and Satan characters have rankled some and the host has received death threats. Didn't Matthew say,"Love thy neighbor as thyself."
The show has an impressive 415,000 monthly downloads, so clearly listeners enjoy the podcast. The God pod is produced by Glassbox Media, which has announced today a new slate of original podcast shows, including a special take on Practical Stoicism hosted by one of the top influencers in Podcasting, Tanner Campbell.
Another Glassbox-prduced show, Classic Conversation, is hosted by Jeff Dwoskin—who has been described as "The Midwest Lounge Letterman." The show, attracting 230,000 monthly downloads, is an interview show with popular entertainers who talk about their careers and share some insights into their lives away from the spotlight.
“Our core mission is to help creators succeed and ultimately grow the value of their show catalog and IP, says David Segura, CEO & Co-Founder of Glassbox. We remain deeply invested in their growth and will continue to do all we can to help them succeed.”
"The Pitch" podcast joins Vox & heads to the Windy City
Created in 2015, The Pitch podcast features a hopeful entrepreneur each episode
and their business pitch before a panel of prospective investors. The Pitch is known for supporting small businesses through its thoughtful storytelling, digging deep into founders' backgrounds and following up with featured start-ups even after they’ve secured funding. The Pitch,
hosted by Josh Muccio, has announced that it is joining the Vox Media Podcast Network.
The new season of The Pitch premieres February 2023, this time focused on Chicago-based entrepreneurs to prove that there is so much exciting innovation happening beyond the tech hubs of New York and San Francisco.
Yes, the podcast sounds Shark Tank-like in its concept. But give it a listen. It is, in many ways, better.

Bloomberg podcasts break through in 2022
When podcast fans think of podcast networks, Bloomberg is not the first name to roll off their tongues. But the network has a large roster of podcasts and in 2022, it has released some shows that are definitely ear worthy.
In 2022, Bloomberg’s podcasts that kept us entertained and informed about some of this year’s biggest stories, included:
Investigative:
-
In Trust:
A hundred and fifty years ago, the Osage Nation bought a stretch of
prairie the size of Delaware,
in what's now Oklahoma. The Osage owned the land and everything beneath
it. Today, much of present-day Osage County isn’t in Osage hands. In
some cases, appropriation was swift and brutal: Dozens of Osages were
murdered for their share of lucrative mineral
rights in the 1920s, a period often referred to as the Reign of Terror.
But other transfers of wealth played out more subtly—dollar by dollar
and acre by acre, over decades—helped along by policies created by the
US government.
In Trust, by Bloomberg News and iHeartMedia, is the story of that
system. A system that moved wealth from Native hands to White ones. One
that three brothers learned to operate, laying the foundation for a
modern American dynasty of land and influence
that continues to this day.
- Odd Lots: Bloomberg's Joe Weisenthal and Tracy Alloway analyze the weird patterns, the complex issues and the newest market crazes. Every Monday and Thursday listeners can hear interviews with the most interesting minds in finance, economics and markets.
Technology:
-
Foundering - The Amazon Story:
Foundering is a serialized podcast from the journalists at
Bloomberg Technology. Each season brings listeners inside a different
high-stakes drama from the technology industry, where companies are
wielding unprecedented capital and power. Season three
of Foundering reexamines a foundational story of the internet
age: the rise of Amazon and its founder Jeff Bezos. Following his
best-selling book “Amazon Unbound,” Bloomberg's Brad Stone continues his
exploration of Amazon and its founder, presenting
an unvarnished picture of a company that spans the globe and touches
nearly every aspect of our lives—for better or worse.
- The Pay Check: Season 4 of The Pay Check looks at how the pandemic created a global economic crisis that economists and experts expected would lead to greater wealth inequality than ever before. However, that's not exactly how things have played out. What happened varied widely, depending on how governments and societies stepped in to address the crisis and what kinds of foundations they had going in.
Health:
- Prognosis - Losing It: Losing It, a new series from Bloomberg’s Prognosis, looks at how we got weight loss so wrong — and whether there’s a better way forward. For much of human history, we’ve turned to diets to lose weight and improve our health. But it’s mostly been in vain. No matter how much the number on the scale drops begins to go down, chances are that the weight will come back. That’s just what the science says. But when it comes to weight, the facts just don’t seem to matter. Previous seasons of Bloomberg’s Prognosis podcast explored innovation in medical technologies, America’s broken healthcare system, superbugs, and the explosion of anti-vaccine sentiment.
Climate:
- Zero: Zero is a podcast that explores the policies, tactics and clean technologies taking us to a future of zero emissions as the world fights climate change. Bloomberg Green’s award-winning climate reporter Akshat Rathi talks to the people who are making it happen, including interviews with Bill Gates about his work to raise funds for innovative climate startups and White House National Climate Advisor Ali Zaidi who discussed the Biden administration's wins and goals.
Crypto:
- Bloomberg Crypto: Each weekday, Stacy-Marie Ishmael dives into everything from Bitcoin to Bored Apes, NFT’s to DeFi, Staking to Web3. Drawing on Bloomberg reporters from every region around the globe, Bloomberg Crypto goes deeper than the daily market buzz to explore how this asset class is shifting the way we live.
- After Crypto giant FTX lost $15 billion in a single day last week, listeners are paying much more attention to those investment types!
