The first two episodes released of The History of the World’s Greatest Nightclubs
iHeartPodcasts and London Audio, the podcast division of Paris Hilton’s next-gen media company 11:11 Media, released the first two episodes of The History of the World’s Greatest Nightclubs, the newest podcast series in their ongoing partnership. The series is executive produced by Paris Hilton, one of the world’s most recognizable female DJs, and is hosted by Ultra Naté.
Throughout the 12-part series, the show will bring listeners on a journey around the world and through time to explore the history of nightlife.
In the inaugural episode, listeners will learn about The Music Institute in downtown Detroit that was central to the birth of Techno. The Music Institute was open for a short 18 months, but it pioneered Techno music, was home to leading DJs, and producers and inspired a generation of Black people to make genre shifting music that would be heard for decades to come.
Episode
two dives into Danceteria which was more than a nightclub, it was an
artistic incubator at the heart of New York’s early 80s cultural
renaissance. Danceteria
became an opportunity for musicians, artists, and activists to seek
inspiration – with artists like Madonna performing on stage for the
first time and Keith Haring painting art straight onto the walls.
In the midst of the AIDs crisis, Danceteria
became the place New Yorkers escaped to find community, joy, and the
chance to lose themselves on the dance floor.
New episodes will be released every Thursday.

Bad Manors podcast: A cheeky look at castles and country estates
Bad Manors is UK comedian Tom Houghton’s newest podcast series for a peek
inside Britain’s stately homes, castles and country estates and hear
about their local
histories, the scandals and the mysteries, giving listeners a
behind-the-scenes look at tales you won’t hear in the guidebook.
In the
inaugural episode, Tom Houghton explores the Tower of London and chats with the
current Queen of the Castle. This is a uniquely British podcast, since in the U.S. Houghton would have to visit the gated communities where the one-percenters live to make a comparable podcast. So enjoy this British podcast where past privilege meets present-day decay, all served with a touch of British wit.
Tune into Bad Manors
on iHeartPodcasts every Tuesday.
