Tink Media Delicacies 2023: The Best Podcasts of The Year

 It's December. That means Santa, holidays, gift-giving, family dinners, Fox News whining about saying Merry Christmas, and, of course, lists. 

The Best Of... Lists arrive in our inboxes, social media feed, websites, YouTube channels, and TV and radio stations. 

 Sadly, some lists are so short these days. "Best Members Of Congress?" Goose egg. "Best Billionaire?" Nada. Best discount airline? Any airline that doesn't charge for EVERYTHING. Best Conspiracy Theory that has even a third-grade level understanding of Science? Zero.

Last week, on the website of a formerly popular magazine, I spotted a "Best Of...The Best Of...Lists."

Whaaat! A list that judges other lists.

Podcasting is an ideal medium for such lists, simply because there are so many excellent podcasts. Sure, we've all heard about the astronomical number of podcasts. Yet, lost in that meme is a hidden truth: There are thousands of terrific podcasts in search of the right audience.

Anyway, an excellent source of Best Of... for podcasting is Tink Media.

Frankly, that's adorable and an attractive offer.

So, the company releases an annual list that it calls, "Tink Media Delicacies."

In essence, Tink Media recommends podcasts you probably will not see on the Best Of...Podcast Lists floating around in late December.

Why? Because Tink Media doesn't follow the crowd. And, it knows podcasting like the back of the Shure SM7B podcast mic.

In 2022, the Tink Media Delicacies connected me to shows that have become my listening favorites, such as, All The Wiser, Higher Learning, Banned, A History of Music In 500 Songs, and Today, Explained.

In 2023, I loved The Life Shift, The Redemption of Jar Jar Binks, Maintenance Phase, Skyline Drive, and Weight For It.

There are so many hidden treasures on this list. I've already downloaded several podcasts on the list that I just discovered thanks to Tink's Delicacies. 

Think about Tink Media Delicacies this way. Read the list, then find some podcasts that are hidden gold. Then, meet a few of your know-it-all friends who haven't met a story or recommendation for a restaurant, movie, TV show, or podcast they couldn't top.

Then, hit them with your Tink Media Delicacies discoveries and watch their faces droop in exasperation. You should definitely share Tink Media Delicacies, but not with those smarty-pants, show-off, windbag acquaintances.
