"America In The Morning" Radio Show Becomes A Cumulus Podcast

Ah, remember the old days when radio shows were converted into podcasts. In the way back times -- we're talking 2010s -- NPR repurposed many of its radio shows as podcasts. Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! was one of its first experiments, with many more to come. Soon, other radio networks followed the leader and converted radio shows into podcasts, or produced both formats.

The Something You Should Know podcast was a popular radio show for years before Mike Carruthers made the switch to podcasting.

Podcasting has even begun to be an alternative to TV, radio, and internet news channels, and that's a positive development in podcasting.

Even though the transformation from radio show to podcast has slowed as shows are developed as podcasts, bypassing the radio larvae stage, there are still migration stories.

Just to be clear, this is legal migration, not illegal immigration.

In 2018, America in the Morning won the New York Festivals Radio Award – the highest award for a news magazine.

In 2024 America in the Morning radio broadcast celebrates its 40th anniversary providing news and information in a lively, unbiased format, with specialized reports from where news happens.

Cumulus Media has announced that Westwood One’s award-winning daily news magazine program, America in the Morning, joins the Cumulus Podcast Network. With host John Trout, America in the Morning podcast offers up-to-the-minute news reports from around the country and across the globe, with the latest overnight developments in business, breaking news, politics, sports, entertainment, and weather.

America in the Morning podcast will drop a new episode each morning, and is available on Apple, Spotify, and YouTube, among other platforms.

America in the Morning is
the U.S.’s longest running network newsmagazine. The program has had only two hosts, the late Jim Bohannon and current host John Trout, who is a two-time recipient of the Achievement in Radio Award.

On the show, business reports from CNBC will keep listeners updated on the markets, sports experts will have late night scores, and AccuWeather will provide the latest on America’s weather, with storm warnings, weather patterns and state-of-the-art forecasts.

Trout, a seasoned radio and television broadcaster, has worked in a wide-range of capacities within the radio industry, including on-air host, newscaster, sales manager, and program director. He’s a two time recipient of the Achievement in Radio award.

So, if you can't stand the overly political news channels, the "bad-news-bears" local news outlets, the morning TV shows laden with puff pieces, and don't trust internet news sources with their shadowy connections to lobbying organizations, try America in the Morning.

It's a daily podcast that offers up-to-the-minute news reports from around the country and across the globe, with the latest overnight developments in business, breaking news, politics, sports, entertainment, and weather.
