There are thousands of business podcasts, many of which are excellent and eminently ear worthy. In this article, I am reviewing a business podcast with a unique, engaging, and inventive perspective on business success. This superb business podcast takes its name from a popular and enduring song from the 1950 Disney film, Cinderella. The song -- Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo -- has been transformed into Bippity Boppity to form a business podcast called Bippity Boppity Business.
This is how creator / host Rita Richa characterizes her podcast: "A bi-weekly podcast teaching business leaders and entrepreneurs Disney storytelling magic. You will learn how to infuse wonder into your brand, strategies for executing memorable and immersive customer experiences, creating a strong company culture for your business... and so much more!
Rita continues: "Join us as we hear from Disney cast members, influencers, and enthusiasts as we uncover the secrets of what it takes 'behind the scenes' to make Disney such a successful and well-loved brand"
"Disney cast members, influencers, and enthusiasts to uncover the secrets of what it takes to make Disney such a well-loved and successful brand."
The podcast began in August 2021 and in the adorable trailer, Rita urges her listeners to, "relax, pull up a chair and be our guest."
As a branding professional, Rita uses that same phrase to open each episode, along with a brief explanation of the podcast's objectives. That smart business to attract new listeners by explaining the premise right up front for potential newbies. After all, monetizing a podcast is about attracting and maintaining a substantial core audience and then growing that audience via assorted marketing tools.
Some of my favorite episodes include January 22, 2022, show in which former Walt Disney World Ambassador Caitlin Busscher discussed a variety of topics, including achieving excellence in hospitality and peerless customer service. In the show, Busscher talks about the importance of giving employees frequent, honest and constructive feedback.
In the February 1, 2023 show, Rita and Marketing Happy Hour podcast co-host Cassie Tucker discuss the importance of storytelling in marketing and branding. During the show, Tucker and Rita actually do a case studio of rebranding Hades in the 1997 animated Disney film Hercules.
In the April 26, 2023 show, guest Doug Rabold tells his story of moving from Sales to I.T. at 42 years old. Once in I.T., Rabold discusses being part of the I.T. Help Desk, which most employees term the "No Help Desk." Rabold explains the steps they took to identify the problem -- which was NOT throw more people at the service issue -- but to redesign the entire process on the back end working forward.
As a host, Rita Richa is exceptional. She begins each episode with an infectious sense of discovery and respect for learning new skills and embracing new concepts. Her interviewing skills spark stimulating conversation that avoids excessive "marketing speak" and lays out actionable solutions to business issues.
Clearly, Rita is a Disney enthusiast, and she leverages that passion for Disney's experiential excellence to impart key learnings to her listeners.
As founder, executive Producer of Reignite Media and
host of Bippity Boppity Business, Rita has an extensive background
involving the intricacies of B2B podcast development, content-based
networking, and brand strength capitalization, and enjoys every moment
of leveraging that history to continuously help others spearhead their
podcasting objectives within this ever-evolving industry.
Native
to Jacksonville, FL, with Lebanese family roots, Rita's innate work ethic became
the catalyst for her to work with distinguished brands within the
automotive industry, including Tesla and BMW, while earning her Business
degree from Florida State College. Driven by her goal to meet as many
people as possible, gain real-world work experience, and ignite her
creative flame, Rita decided to follow her passion for marketing and
podcasting.
"I decided to get into podcasting while I was working for an agency producing for clients. As I learned more about business and the medium, I needed a more tangible way to understand business concepts like customer experience, branding, and storytelling themes in content," says Rita. "I figured my love of Disney and newfound love of business combined would be a helpful place to start. Plus, I wanted an excuse to meet folks in the Disney space who had achieved exceptional things. I have always loved interviewing and having conversations, podcasting felt like the right fit for me."
Rita also stresses the importance of her identity as a Lebanese-American and a woman.
"Being
Lebanese is an important part of my upbringing and nature. I was born
in the U.S., but my parents are from Lebanon," Rita begins, "This dichotomy of two
cultures has helped give me a better understanding of others and a
larger worldview. I also joke around that Lebanese folks are quite the
serial entrepreneurs and talkative bunch, so I think my genetics may
have something to do with my lack of fear in talking to strangers. Even
through difficult [or war-torn] times, it always makes me so proud and
amazed at how resilient and joyful my family can be. They laugh at the
face within the face of adversity and go, 'Well, you only live once' I
guess you could say I've got a 'brave and bold' gene."
Rita continues: "I know that women have faced more difficulties and barriers -- work-life balance, equal pay, equal opportunity -- I
have been extremely blessed and grateful to have been given
opportunities that may have only been male-dominated. B2B specifically
is the niche I work in with clients, in the past there have been more
males than females in the space. But I feel that podcasting has actually
helped in giving women more of a voice within business."
"On the podcasting side," Rita begins, "I do feel immense pressure to 'look' a
certain way on camera, as traditional media and new stations have made
it a norm. This is something I am trying to work on, as often I am most
creative when I am not necessarily "red carpet" ready. I wonder if any
males face this same dilemma, or if they are able to just turn on the
camera or mic at any time and hit 'record' without fearing their
appearance will be judged."
Rita Richa has not only worked with countless international B2B brands to help build, launch, and execute the production of their podcasts but has also mastered the art of content-based networking that enables others to easily transform leads into sales as well as make meaningful worldwide connections. Taking that expertise with her to launch Bippity Boppity Business, Rita has been diligently teaching others how to build brands through strategic podcasting.
If you are a business professional searching for ideas on B2B marketing, brand management, customer experience management, service excellence, and podcasting to build a brand, check out Bippity Boppity Business.
Rita Richa represents women in business, Millennials, Lebanese Americans, and podcasters with tenacity, innovation, commitment, and creativity. Her voice and message are unique in podcasting.
