Ear Worthy Podcast Trio: Love-Ly, TechSurge, Lost Cells

Tech Surge Podcast: A Tech Venture Firm Takes The Mic!

It's not often that a venture capital firm develops a podcast that supports their business objectives. It's even rarer when the podcast is any good. The TechSurge: Deep Tech VC Podcast explores the frontiers of emerging tech, venture capital, and business.

Founded in 2013 by seasoned technology industry leaders, Celesta Capital is a global deep tech venture capital firm based in Silicon Valley. The firm has over 1.1 billion in assets, investing in over 100 companies. I don't know what "deep tech" means, but I have to admit that it sounds impressive.

The firm explains that the podcast is "For entrepreneurs, investors, tech professionals, or anyone interested in where technology is headed next. The podcast is hosted by Celesta Founding Partners Nic Brathwaite, Michael Marks, and Sriram Viswanathan. Join us as we examine the next major tech cycle, uncover emerging global tech hubs, and analyze where VC investment dollars are headed. Tune in to hear directly from Silicon Valley leaders, daring new founders, and visionary thinkers. Past guests on the podcast and TechSurge Live summits include Kara Swisher, and impressive tech names you and I have probably never heard of.

The three Celesta partners are surprisingly effective hosts and interviewers. Topics covered include typical tech shiny objects such as blockchain, crypto, biotech, robotaxis, construction industry tech, and AI.

If you are a tech investor, love tech, even deep tech, and want to know more, this podcast is for you. TechSurge: Deep Tech VC Podcast

Introducing the Love-Ly Podcast: The Anti-Hallmark View of Love & Dating

First, I enjoy almost everything that Immigrantly Media does in the podcasting space. I think they could expand their network with more superb independent podcasts, and I do hope they consider that business strategy. The network has developed another credit to podcasting with this new show on love, dating, the pain it can entail, and modern complications.

Second, Love-ly podcast asks what happens when cultural traditions collide with the whirlwind of modern dating?

Immigrantly Media responds: "Welcome to Love-ly, the podcast where host Mehak Shoeb explores the beautifully messy, deeply personal stories of love, identity, and connection. From first and second generation immigrants balancing family expectations to Gen Z navigating dating apps and “situationships,” Love-ly dives into the heart of what it means to love in today’s tech-driven world.

Whether it’s a cringe-worthy first date from 10 years ago or a fresh heartbreak from last week, Mehak and her guests share unfiltered realities and laugh-out-loud moments we can all relate to. Tune in for heartfelt conversations that remind us of one universal truth: no matter where you’re from or what your relationship status is, everyone has a lovely story worth telling.

After the nicely done trailer on February 7, two episodes have been released, both harbingers of future excellence. The first episode, released on Valentine's Day, addresses the specifics and differences inherent in Muslim matchmaking.

It was a fun and informative show. Not everyone on the romance track has to be white, blonde, no college debt, able to afford Ozempic, and follow the Hallmark script.

Mehak Shoeb handles the hosting duties with skillful intelligence. The first episode, Mehak shared her dating tribulations. On the second show, she discusses the sticky subject of intimacy, explored through an immigrant lens. In the episode, Mehak asks an essential question: "How many of us have experienced intimacy that wasn't actually intimacy? Have we been made to feel that someone is entitled to a version of ourselves?"

Check out the Love-ly podcast. Listeners will hear that love has different shades and hues just as we do, and cultural traditions entangle themselves into our dating and romantic lives.

Lost Cells Podcast: Banking on our Stem Cells

Parents around the world are investing in storing their babies' umbilical cord blood in the hope of being able to use the cells if their children need medical treatment in the future. A new investigative podcast, Lost Cells, tells the story of families affected by
the scandal surrounding private stem cell banks in Switzerland.

When parents decide to deposit their child's stem cells in a biobank, they have to weigh up far-reaching legal, ethical and financial opportunities and risks. For example, who can use them and how, or how securely they are stored together with highly sensitive data.

The podcast focuses on the bankruptcy of the cord blood bank Cryo-Save in Switzerland and its devastating consequences for hundreds of thousands of families due to the loss of life-saving cells. This six-part audio is

It is a gripping investigative series that uncovers the human stories behind the promises and failures of a stem cell bank.

In Spain, a former journalist with a terminal illness searches desperately for his daughter’s stem cells, hoping they can save his life. In Serbia, a family’s plans to help their daughter through cutting-edge research collapse when the promises of the Cryo-Save stem cell bank are broken. Meanwhile, from Switzerland to the United States, a team of journalists works to uncover the truth behind these failures.

This trilingual series, available in English, Spanish and French, explores the global impact of Cryo-Save’s collapse.

Lost Cells is a story of vulnerability, hope, and the ethical challenges of stem cell research. It takes listeners into the heart of an industry that touches on our deepest fears and aspirations about health and technology.

What does it mean to lose something as valuable as our DNA? That’s one of the many questions behind Lost Cells. This gripping investigative podcast series uncovers the human stories behind the promises and failures of private stem cell banking in Switzerland.

A private stem cell, or cord blood, bank is a facility that stores these important, foundation cells for the human body. Parents pay to bank cord blood from a baby’s birth in the hope of using the cells in a potential future medical treatment.

Lost Cells is an investigative co-production by SWI swissinfo.ch with Piz Gloria Productions and Studio Ochenta and is available free of charge in French, Spanish and English on Apple Podcasts.

Check out Lost Cells. It is, in essence, the ultimate true-crime bank heist.
