Season Four Of The Impostrix Podcast Launches: Black Women Reclaiming Personal Autonomy

Impostrix Podcast is a platform dedicated to validating and empowering professionals of color navigating imposter syndrome and workplace challenges. Through deep, authentic conversations, the podcast provides listeners with tools, insights, and affirmations to reclaim their confidence and success on their own terms. The show is the 2024 recipient of the Black Podcasting Awards Best Business Podcast Award, and the 2024 recipient of the Best Society/Education Podcast from the Ear Worthy Indie Podcast Awards.

Impostrix launches its fourth season with

host Whitney Knox Lee being joined by her guest Lala, owner of the amazing 1:11 Studios in Forest Park, Georgia, to dive into the season's focus on supporting Black women. Lala discusses her journey as a Black woman entrepreneur and podcaster, her experiences moving from California to the South, and the significance of creating joy and fun amidst the challenges.

I think Impostrix is so compelling because Ms Knox Lee has focused on Imposter Syndrome as one major consequence of centuries of chattel slavery, a century of exclusionary and vitriolic laws like Jim Crow, and the continuing undeclared campaign against BIPOC racial, cultural, and economic equality.

Here's how Ms Knox Lee introduces herself: "I'm a proud Black American mom to two Black boys, a wife, an attorney, mediator, and anti-racism and DEI consultant. I'm also the host of Impostrix Podcast, where we share real talk about what it's like to navigate the professional world as a person of color. From imposter syndrome to racial toxicity, we cover it all. So join me and some amazing guests as we unpack the challenges and triumphs of being professionals of color."

Think about Knox Lee's self-portrait. She is a DEI consultant at a time when DEI is under attack by many politicians, social media trolls, and wealthy corporate leaders.

To Whitney Knox Lee's credit, she is undaunted in the face of these challenges. Read her mission statement: "Impostrix Podcast affirms the lived experiences of (smart, talented AF, and often over-qualified) people of color by challenging imposter syndrome narratives and validate people navigating racial toxicity in their career."

Whitney observes: "Here, we will talk self-advocacy. You will learn ways to overcome and leverage imposter experiences, and you will be better able to identify when and why your work culture is working against you. Find support, resist gaslighting, own your space."

Impostrix Podcast was created and is hosted by Attorney Whitney Knox Lee, who is the Founder of Wills for the People LLC, a legal practice providing Georgia residents with wills, trusts, and other estate planning services and focusing on BIPOC households and first-time estate planners.

In season four, Impostrix Podcast, re-dedicates itself to empowering professionals of color, centering on Black women reclaiming their time, energy, and power. This season dives into self-care and soul-care for Black women, healing from trauma and chronic stress, setting boundaries, and prioritizing joy.

Whitney notes: "With Black women experiencing higher rates of chronic stress than their white counterparts—leading to long-term physical and mental health consequences—Season four is a response to these challenges, offering healing-centered conversations and actionable strategies for well-being for Black women who refuse to be everything for everyone—choosing instead to be everything for themselves."

“Black women face immense pressure to give more, we are expected to give endlessly while receiving little in return,” adds Whitney. “This season is a radical act of care, featuring guests who embody self-investment and well-being, showcasing how radical self-care is essential for thriving and breaking free from chronic stress.”

I highly recommend the  Impostrix Podcast. Right now, we need more people like Whitney Knox Lee to "fight the good fight." First, our right to free speech should not be abridged because of an executive order instructing people not to discuss DEI. Second, author Stephen Covey was right when he said,"Strength lies in differences, not in similarities."

Unity, not uniformity, should be our goal.
