This new podcast exemplifies the niche aspect of podcasting. There are thousands of shows on marketing. Some of these shows reveal a deep understanding of this "dark art." Others expose a reliance on familiar and worn advice that provides little value to the listener or viewer.
That's definitely not the case with Practice Marketing Insider, a show launched on April 14th in which a digital Marketing expert debunks outdated Therapy Practice Marketing Advice.
Kristie Plantinga, founder of the boutique marketing agency
Place Digital, developed the series, which is designed to debunk outdated or overinflated marketing tropes and provide mental health
professionals with high-growth strategies tailored for a landscape transformed
by AI.
Kristie Plantinga says: "I've observed a widening gap between the 'standard' marketing advice given to therapists and the digital realities of today. Practice
Marketing Insider seeks to fill this gap, offering weekly, in-depth episodes that challenge the status quo."
Kristie continues: "I've spent a lot of my time as a marketer in the therapist industry biting my tongue. There are so many platforms and professionals that tell therapists what they want to hear, not what they need to hear. On Practice Marketing Insider, I'll do the opposite. Total transparency about what's actually working, because therapists deserve to hear the truth, even if it's a tough pill to swallow."
Kristie Plantinga emphasizes: "Each week, Practice Marketing Insider will examine a piece of outdated or overblown marketing advice and explain why itʼs inaccurate, exactly what to do instead, and how to implement changes that fit a modern practice."
Upcoming episodes will tackle common industry misconceptions, including: "Marketing Should Make Me Feel Good" – Why effective growth requires stepping outside your comfort zone.
"I Should Blog More" – Why high-volume, low-quality content is a losing strategy in the age of AI.
"I Should Start Marketing When I Need Clients" – The dangers of reactive marketing and how to build a sustainable, long-term funnel.
Practice Marketing Insider will be busting private practice marketing myths left and right around blogging, AI, reviews, content, and more.
There will also be interviews with some of Kristie Plantinga's friends in the therapy marketing space, including Felicia Keller Boyle and Michael Fulwiler.
Produced by PodVision, the show caters to the full spectrum of the industry from solo practitioners to group practice owners looking to scale to seven figures and beyond.
I've listened to the two episodes that have been released and enjoyed the show. First, I do not have a therapy practice, although it's been suggested that I need therapy. However, I found the episodes informative, supportive, and cozy. Plantinga's voice is warm, and her attitude is encouraging, reassuring, and caring. She is not strident in her opinions, but concerned and helpful.
The episodes are only about 10 minutes long, with pleasing music in the background while Plantinga dispenses advice. Practice Marketing Insider can be a valuable tool for therapy practitioners. Even if you're not in that field, Plantinga offers solid marketing advice that can be applied to other fields.
