Vox Launches Quick Hits -- A Daily, Short-Form Podcast

Today, Vox launched Vox Quick Hits, a new way for listeners to experience Vox's explainer journalism every morning in new short-form segments. Hosted by Today Explained host Sean Rameswaram and a strong supporting cast, Vox Quick Hits offers audiences the unique ability to pick and choose which segments they listen to across the daily round down.

Vox Quick Hits curated content allows audiences can choose from the topics they’re interested in and/or discover something new along the way

Vox hopes that this new podcast introduces a new routine. Every morning, listeners wake up to three new bite-sized episodes.

According to Vox, "from the time it takes to grab a cup of coffee and breakfast or commute to the couch, you can start your morning more informed."

Vox Quick Hits
"It’s responsive to our audience trends," begins podcast consultant George Witt. "Over the past year, listener habits have changed as well as their daily routines. In Vox fashion, this new podcast reaches the needs of our multifaceted audience seeking more in-depth explainer journalism."

In recent months, the Vox Podcast Network has made several key moves to bolster their content and provide more value to their listeners.

"While some large podcast companies have been busy with acquisitions and financial realignment," remarks podcast consultant George Witt. "Vox has concentrated its fire on enhancements to the listener experience."

For example, in the fall, The Vox Media Podcast Network and The Verge announced a new podcast — Decoder with Nilay Patel. Hosted by Verge editor-in-chief Nilay Patel, the new show will continue incisive, news-breaking interviews for Recode Decode subscribers.

Vox then announced a new podcast (in collaboration with Epic Little America) called Go For Broke, which is a joint project that explores the dotcom bubble of 2000, in which the rise of venture capital money and stock market speculation, combined with the beginnings of Internet commerce, led to trillions of dollars created and lost — seemingly overnight

Then, in the election season, Vox leveraged its popular and critically acclaimed Today Explained podcast brand to release Today Explained: The Trump Years, a special five-part podcast series
