It's commonly reported that podcasting began around 2004 and was crafted by a variety of innovators -- including Adam Curry and Dave Winer. After creating the RSS feed, Winer was able to post his friend's text-only blog in audio format via mp3 files.
Podcasting began as a uniquely American innovation, and some podcast networks have remained safely within U.S. borders with its audio content.
Not Parcast. The studio has embraced a global strategy, Parcast just launched their 100th international feed.
Parcast began feeding podcasts internationally in November 2019 with “Cults” in Germany (HERE) and their 100th feed is an exclusive for Australia/New Zealand for their popular “Horoscope Today” podcast. Parcast has reached 56 adaptations across five continents to date across their numerous titles, including “Daily Quote,” “Serial Killers,” “Conspiracy Theories,” and “Mythology.”
Parcast is a studio with strong, passionate voices telling stories that inform, inspire and entertain. Parcast, home to popular podcasts like Serial Killers, Horoscope Today and Supernatural with Ashley Flowers, was founded in 2016 by Max Cutler in Los Angeles and was acquired by Spotify in 2019.
Since joining Spotify, Parcast’s podcasts have gone global and been adapted for new markets including Mexico, Brazil and Sweden among others. Parcast's show span true crime, mystery, history and celestial storytelling.
