Spotify Expands Music + Talk to 15 New Global Markets

In 2020, Spotify began experimenting with a new type of show that blends full music tracks with spoken commentary - similar to an enhanced playlist, but in an episode format. Called Music + Talk, these shows could be created by anyone using Anchor.

Since then, creators have taken to Spotify to talk about the music they love - and the format has also brought about a number of Spotify Originals, including Black Girl Songbook, 10 Songs that Made Me and others.

Spotify is now expanding Music + Talk to millions more creators and listeners around the world. Beginning in mid-August, the creation feature is expanding to 15 new markets across Europe, Latin America and Asia. Creators will now have access to the music tool in Anchor, Spotify’s all-in-one podcast platform, where they’ll have access to Spotify’s library of 70 million tracks.

New Music + Talk markets include Japan, India, Philippines, Indonesia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Colombia.
