"Science Vs" Podcast Latest Episode: Jurassic Park: Hold On To Your Butts

Scientists are closer than ever before to resurrecting animals that have gone extinct and beginning to receive ample funding to do so. We are getting closer to a Wooly mammoth, but could scientists push things even further and bring back the most notable and coveted of all extinct animals… DINOSAURS?

In the latest episode of Science Vs, host Wendy Zukerman explores that question with in-depth discussions with Jack Horner, a paleontologist who consulted on the “Jurassic Park” films and his past fossil research partner Mary Schweitzer of North Carolina State University and more to see if the giants of history’s past can truly be resurrected? Or is a little coop of chickenosauruses the most we can hope for? And how could these techniques be used to even tweak human DNA?

The episode's title is, appropriately enough, "Jurassic Park: Hold on to Your Butts," after the famous Samuel L. Jackson quote from the Spielberg movie.

Science Vs is now in its 11th season and continues to decipher facts from myths. In an age of rampant misinformation, Science Vs strives for accuracy and scientific credibility while not afraid to sometimes conclude, "the data shows we're not sure."

Hosted by Australian science journalist Wendy Zukerman, Science Vs is successful because of two primary reasons. First, Zukerman’s good-natured humor topples listener expectations about what a science podcast should sound like. Second, the unique mission of the podcast --using scientific investigative techniques to separate fact from myth – sparks interest, controversy and insight.

In a post-truth world, Zukerman and her team of scientific detectives take on incendiary topics in today’s zeitgeist, such as gun control, vaccinations, climate change, organic food, and even blue balls.
