This new podcast begins as Roberts sets off on a journey of a lifetime with divers and marine archeologists, descendants of shipwrecks and historians investigating the lost stories of the slave trade—both to expand the historical record and to honor the estimated 1.8 million unsung souls who perished during the Middle Passage.

In episode four, Tara Roberts heads to Africa to walk the path her ancestors may also have, hundreds of years prior. This episode takes a personal turn as Roberts explores the history of accomplished African divers, a 16th century Tudor shipwreck, and delves into her personal family history as it relates to the slave trade. Roberts experiences an emotional moment as she comes to terms with her family’s past - and future.
