The podcast combines Parton and Patterson’s co-authored fiction novel with music recordings performed by Parton. Bookcast will bring the audiobook to life with the curated music that lends itself to a theatrical experience for listeners.

The narrative of Run, Rose, Run centers around an aspiring female artist who comes to country music’s capital city to pursue her music-making dreams. Behind the inspiration of her heart-wrenching songs is a brutal secret she has done everything to hide. She soon learns that the past can’t be hidden and is threatening the very future she is trying to build.

The first two episodes of the 12-episode series of Run, Rose, Run are now available to stream.

Run, Rose, Run is woven around three simultaneous trends in podcasting. First, celebrities like Parton and Patterson have entered the podcast space. Second, the audio fiction genre in podcasting has captivated listeners in significant numbers, and third, curated music has merged with audio fiction to create an immersive listening experience.
