  The Amityville Murders Kills In The Ratings

Less than two weeks since its debut, CNN Audio and HLN today announced the hit podcast Very Scary People: The Amityville Murders has reached #1 across all podcasts in Apple Podcasts charts, as well as #1 in the true-crime podcast category.

  Hosted by Donnie Wahlberg, the podcast takes listeners to Amityville and inside the twisted and enigmatic story of the DeFeo family, unpacking how a grisly mass murder became an iconic haunted tale.

 The first three episodes are now available to listen on CNN Audio and on all major podcast platforms. New episodes are released weekly on Fridays.

Spotify Goes Dark In Russia

Last week, Spotify announced it would stop all podcasting and streaming music services in Russia until further notice. Spotify took this action because of the country’s new law designed to stifle accurate coverage of its invasion of Ukraine. Spotify expects to complete the shutdown by early April.

“Unfortunately, recently enacted legislation further restricting access to information, eliminating free expression, and criminalizing certain types of news puts the safety of Spotify’s employees and possibly even our listeners at risk,” said a Spotify spokesperson, who asked not to be named because of the sensitivity of the situation.

Earlier in March, Spotify closed its local offices in the country and removed the Russian state outlets RT and Sputnik from the platform.

 Hulu Renews Murders In The Building Show About Three Podcasters

Hulu has just released a new teaser for the hotly anticipated second season of Only Murders in the Building, returning to the streamer this summer. Season 2 of Only Murders in the Building will premiere exclusively on Hulu starting on Tuesday, June 28, after a critically and commercially successful first season.

Only Murders in the Building tells the story of an unlikely team of amateur sleuths and podcasters as they attempt to solve a mysterious death in their luxury apartment building, the Arconia. The show stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez.
