Spotify and Archewell Audio Announce ‘Archetypes,’ New Podcast Series Hosted by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex

Spotify and Archewell Audio - the audio-first production company founded by Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have announced the first original podcast series to be produced as a part of their multi-year partnership.

Launching this summer, Archetypes’ hosted by Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, will investigate the labels that try to hold women back. Throughout the series, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex will speak with historians and experts to uncover the origin of these stereotypes and have uncensored conversations with women who know all too well how these typecasts shape narratives. 

 Spotify and Archewell Audio has debuted an audio teaser where Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex shares what listeners can expect when Archetypes premieres this summer.

In the audio teaser released on Spotify (link), Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, addresses the common stereotypes that have historically generalized women through the lens of popular culture and media. “This is how we talk about women: the words that raise our girls, and how the media reflects women back to us . . . but where do these stereotypes come from? And how do they keep showing up and defining our lives?” She also previews the types of guests that will be featured throughout the season. “This is 'Archetypes'—the podcast where we dissect, explore, and subvert the labels that try to hold women back. I’ll have conversations with women who know all too well how these typecasts shape our narratives. And I’ll talk to historians to understand how we even got here in the first place.”

Archetypes will mark the first podcast series as part of Spotify and Archewell Audio’s exclusive multi-year partnership.

 Archetypes will be produced by Archewell Audio in partnership with Gimlet Media for Spotify, and available for listeners around the world to stream for free, exclusively on Spotify this summer.
