"Sam I Am" on Vox
When Vox signed Sam Sanders, expectations were high at Vox and the podcasting community what the highly-skilled Sanders would contribute to the multimedia company.
Sam Sanders is best known for being the host of NPR's It's Been a Minute, a weekly podcast and nationally broadcast radio program, and co-hosted the NPR Politics Podcast.
Last week, Vox announced the launch of Into It, a new flagship culture podcast from Vulture hosted by Sam Sanders that breaks down the pop culture stories of the week. Vox bills the show as covering everything from "the seemingly trivial moments that are actually everything, to the big, deep questions about what it all means."
In the first episode of Into It, Sanders discusses the business of Beyoncé, the women of Love Island, revisiting a Bowling for Soup class, and Kendrick Lamar's recent turn as a...ventriloquist?

Season Six of Land Of The Giants: Facebook, excuse me, Meta
The new season of Vox Media Podcast Network’s award-winning narrative podcast Land of the Giants debuted this month. Hosted by Recode senior correspondent Shirin Ghaffary and The Verge’s deputy editor Alex Heath, The Facebook/Meta Disruption brings listeners original reporting on Meta’s current challenges and the future it’s building while exploring the critical moments from its origin as a scrappy startup to its current status as a tech behemoth.
While the series has now covered all the FAANG companies (Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, and Google), Land of the Giants will be back this fall for a seventh season all about dating apps.
Song Exploder births a Spanish language Version
In the music podcasting world, Song Exploder stands out as a seminal podcast in that genre. Two years ago, Song Exploder debuted on Netflix to positive reviews and intense audience interest.
Radiotopia from PRX is now teaming up with Adonde Media to adapt its popular series Song Exploder into the Spanish-language Canción Exploder.
Created by Hrishikesh Hirway, Song Exploder is a podcast where musicians take apart their songs, and piece by piece, tell the story of how they were made. The series has featured some of the biggest artists in the world––Rick Astley, Cat Stevens, Franz Ferdinand, Halsey, Imagine Dragons, and more––breaking down the sounds and ideas that went into their writing and recording.
The newly-created Canción Exploder will follow a similar path, featuring an impressive lineup of Latin music artists in its first season. Guests will include Nathy Peluso, Jorge Drexler, Mon Laferte, Silvana Estrada, José Gonzalez, iLe & Adrian Quesada, and Ibeyi.
The first episode features the band Bomba Estéreo breaking down their song “Deja” from their critically acclaimed album of the same name.
Adonde Media founder and CEO Martina Castro is the host and co-executive producer of Canción Exploder.
“The debut season of Canción Exploder is a testament to the diversity of Latin music today as we speak with artists writing music in multiple languages, who call many countries their homes, and who tell their stories in a beautiful variety of accents,” said Castro in an interview with InsideRadio.
Hirway will serve as an executive producer of the Spanish-language version of his show.
“The Latin music world is enormous, spanning so many countries and so many genres, and the audience for all that music is vast. A few years ago, I started to wonder if it would be possible to bring Song Exploder and its stories of creativity to that audience,” Hirway said to InsideRadio. “I didn't know much about Spanish-language podcasts, but I knew Martina Castro was a great host, producer, and ambassador, so I asked her if she’d like to work with me on realizing this daydream.”
New episodes of Canción Exploder will be released every two weeks, on Wednesdays through October 26.
