Pillow Guy delusions on new season of The Run-Up podcast

The latest season of “The Run-Up,” a politics podcast from The New York Times, is out now.

For the past few months, host Astead W. Herndon has been reporting from inside the political establishment, where party leaders, donors and activists are already working to influence the 2024 election. The new season of The Run-Up takes listeners inside both parties at their first gatherings of the year to explore this critical window in which political insiders are most willing to be honest about their motives and strategy — some of them, at least.

The first four episodes of the new season are out now.

In the latest episode, Astead speaks with Mike Lindell, AKA The Pillow Guy, and Ronna McDaniel to explore the complexities of the divisions at the heart of the G.O.P. Lindell was just ordered by an arbitration panel to pay $5 million to a software engineer for breach of contract in a dispute over data that Lindell claims proves that China interfered in the U.S. 2020 elections and tipped the outcome to Joe Biden. Will Lindell pay in pillows? Or pillowcases?

Two iHeart podcasts worthy of your ear time

Here are two new podcasts from iHeart's large and varied stable of podcasts.

Your Financial Maven is hosted by 25-year industry vet Samantha Mittman Besnoff, CPA. Your Financial Maven is all about challenging ourselves to change how we think about money, our understanding of it and the effects it has on our lives. Each week, Samantha will provide insights and expertise while also bringing on relevant guests as they touch on budgeting, taxes and really anything around money.

I have several family members who believe budgeting, saving, and a rainy day fund are for suckers. They, and too many others, can use this show.

Intrigued? Check out the debut episode Your Financial Maven.

Sanctum Unmasked tells a tale that begins in 2013, when a nearly penniless party promotor named Damon Lawner founded SNCTM, a members-only roving nightclub that would come to be called ‘the most exclusive celebrity sex club in the world.”

Sanctum Unmasked explores the taboo and tells the story of how Lawner built this remarkable cultural institution, and of Lawner’s personal journey of exploration that mirrored the experience he provided for club guests.

If you’re looking to explore the taboos around sexuality, the most private and delicate of our human foibles, and arrive at a deeper, possibly healthier understanding of ourselves, then Sanctum Unmasked is the podcast for you!

Or you could just listen to hear about the sex. Either way, you'll enjoy the podcast.
