The Comment Section Podcast Goes Spotify Exclusive

The successful video podcast, The Comment Section with Drew Afualo, is now a Spotify exclusive podcast. That could be a good thing if you're a Spotify subscriber.

In every episode, Drew Afualo and a new weekly guest explore the dreaded comment section of their tagged videos on TikTok.

Check out the brand-new trailer HERE.

On the podcast, the host and her guests will comb through their war zone comment sections together while discussing the themes of racism, misogyny, and bigotry that arise.

Let's face it. The comments section on any social media platform is a dumpster fire of rage, hate, racism, misogyny, and conspiracy theories born of extremism and fueled by fringe media outlets pandering to their base.

In the first Spotify exclusive episode from The Comment Section, Drew is joined by social media star and icon Bretman Rock as they discuss how to be “DA BADDEST” which is Bretman’s self-proclaimed nickname. The pair dive into engaging conversation around their backgrounds and tight-knit families, self-confidence and being free from the male gaze. And ultimately, they will pick apart the comments from haters in the comment section!

Some key highlights below around Drew and Bretman’s conversation on being “DA BADDEST.”

7:46-9:24: They chat about the tough love they get from their parents.

Drew Afualo: “It’s like your village that you were raised in in the sense of all the people that were there when you were being raised, when you went to school, friends, family, all that. I feel that too ‘cause I feel like my family is so tight-knit that it’s like, oh yeah, b**** if somebody is gonna humble me, it’s gonna be them.”

Bretman Rock: “We need haters, and I’m proud to say my mom is my number one hater. Shout out to you, mother.”
10:18 - 10:33: They dive into videos and comments on how men view women who believe they’re ‘baddies.’

Drew: “A lot of times too, we talk about how men view women when they believe that they’re da baddest, and it’s not at the expense of any other woman, it’s just like they’re really confident and you know, sh** head dudes don’t like that, so shocker.”

36:32 - 38:02: They speak about the haters and being free from the male gaze.
Bretman: “Something that I always say is that I really genuinely think haters are like ghosts. You really only see them if you look for them, girl. I don’t think I have haters because I don’t [bleep] looking for my haters, girl.”
Drew: “This also applies to you too. We’re so free from the male gaze. We don’t care at all what men think about us in any way shape or form, it means nothing to me. And men hate that more than anything. Terrible men hate that more than anything.”

43:41 - 44:06: They discuss confidence, and how it comes from within.
Drew: “I think that confidence comes from within. It’s purely derived from you, it’s not from pulling from others. That’s what all of these videos did, it’s like they derive their confidence from pushing other people down. And you are not a baddy if that’s the case.”
Bretman: “Yes. If your confidence comes from other people’s bringing them down, girl, that is not confidence, that’s actually just insecurity.”

Drew Afualo, best known as TikTok’s “Crusader or Women,” is a part of the new Hollywood's next generation of rising stars. From her witty content to her no—BS approach to shoveling
misogyny out of the TikTok app via viral takedowns, Drew is taking female empowerment to new levels.

It didn’t take long for Drew to become the app's unofficial misogyny and sexism watchdog. Her signature laugh is now best recognized as a summoning cry to rid the internet of these “dudes with microphones,” thus creating a safe space for women to fight
outdated patriarchal ideals and reclaim their power.

Drew Afualo's primary goal when creating content is to empower women of all backgrounds, from color, size, race, and everyone in between, to gain the confidence to stand up for themselves and others.

Quickly being recognized as a trailblazer within the
industry, Afualo was most recently named an honoree of META’s inaugural Creators of Tomorrow list.

Drew Afualo has also stepped into the world of entertainment by launching two media platforms —a new show called The Comment Section with Drew Afualo and Two Idiot Girls, the latter of which is a podcast she co-hosts with her sister Deison Afualo.

Afualo is also a women’s advocate, a proud Samoan who often uplifts her heritage and others in the AAPI community, she’s a huge sports fan (she used to work for the NFL), and a fashionista on the rise.

Upcoming guests on the The Comment Section include Meghan Trainor, Shea Couleé, Patrick Starr, Tess Holliday, Monét X Change, and more.
