Amplify Color covers the broadcasting career of Big Boy

Do you know who Big Boy is? He was one of the biggest names in radio broadcasting.

In this episode, Amplify Color host Ryan Cameron discusses the fascinating life of LA radio legend Big Boy. Born Kurt Alexander, Big Boy went from working as a bodyguard for the Pharcyde to the leading voice of hip-hop radio in Los Angeles. Once he was hired at Power 106 as a nighttime and afternoon DJ, he was unstoppable. And he was loved by guests and listeners alike. He’s a husband, a father, a son, an inductee into the Radio Hall of Fame, his name is immortalized in a star on Hollywood Boulevard – and he survived an epic battle to become the King of the Los Angeles airwaves.

Warner Music Group's in-house podcast network, Interval Presents, debuted the latest episode of its newest series, "Amplify Color" hosted by Ryan Cameron, a 2x Emmy winner, the host of “Voice of Atlanta,” a member of the Georgia and Black Radio Hall of Fame, and long-time Atlanta DJ.

Produced by Double Elvis, the 14-episode “Amplify Color” series tells the stories of how trailblazers like Charlamagne tha God, Tom Joyner, Robin Quivers and more have left an undeniable impact on the radio industry. The next upcoming episodes will discuss the life of Bay Area’s own Sway Calloway and iconic TV host Wendy Williams.
