5 Random Questions Podcast: Host & Guests Are Prepared For Anything

Did you know that sugar is the most common crop grown in the world today? Sugar is in almost everything in our food supply and other non-food products.

On that same note, the interview podcast is the most common form of podcasting. It's the easiest format to set up and sustain, and requires the least amount of research and money. Whether it's true-crime, comedy, or just a gabfest, over 70 percent of all podcasts are somebody interviewing somebody else.

Yet, leave it to a podcasting pro like Danny Brown to put a surprise twist on the tried-and-true interview podcast.

Welcome to 5 Random Questions with host, Danny Brown. Each week, Danny sits down with his special guest and uses a random question generator to come up with five unpredictable, thought-provoking, and sometimes downright hilarious questions. No topic is off-limits as Danny and his guests dive into their answers, sparking lively discussions filled with laughter, surprises, and occasional deep insights.

As a special twist, every guest gets to turn the tables and ask Danny any random question they like, putting him on the spot and keeping things fresh and fun.

The podcast began in June 2024 and has already received a lot of listener attention and buzz. Here's just an appetizer to some of the randomly generated questions Danny has asked in the first five episodes. These responses include a poop-dropping neighbor from hell, why one guest would love to be splashing around with an umbrella, a preference for wet dog smells, and the person most likely to die by the guest's hand.

So far, Danny's guests have included Fuzz Martin Partner/Chief Strategy Officer at EPIC Creative, Reena Friedman Watts, a television producer, podcast host and mompreneur, whose worked on reality TV shows such as The Jerry Springer Show and Court TV. Joe Casabona, podcast systems coach, web developer, podcast creator, and host of the Streamlined Solopreneur podcast.

Danny's most recent guest was Tony Onwuchekwa aka Tony Doe, who currently curates, produces and hosts the informative hybrid newsletter-podcast, Into The Podverse, which explores challenges and opportunities for podcasters from an African perspective. It also features exclusive interviews, all aimed at helping to elevate the voices and experiences of the podcasting community. Tony also has other shows, such as The Tony Doe Podcast.

While the format and the intriguing guests keep the podcast lively, unpredictable, and wild, it is creator / host Danny Brown who is the true master of ceremonies here. In the hands of a lesser host, this format could either devolve into conversational anarchy or be as rigid as a British stiff upper lip. Brown is in complete control here. He goes with the flow, relaxes his guests with his genial sense of humor and understated wit, and he can improvise like the best stand-up comedian.

You may not have heard of Danny Brown, but many in the podcasting industry, know him, his reputation for excellence, and his work.

Currently, he hosts or co-hosts the following shows: One Minute Podcast Tips, Pod Chat, The Little Pod of Inspiration, Podcaster Stories, and Mental Health and Us.

He is the head of Podcaster Support and Experience at Captivate, helping serious indie podcasters host, distribute, grow, and monetize their podcasts.

Danny is also the author of The Little Book of Inspiration, a collection of inspiring stories and poems of love, redemption, and change. Inspiration is all around us. All we have to do is look.

He is also the Co-author of Influence Marketing: How to Create, Manage and Measure Brand Influencers in Social Media Marketing, described as “…the book that will change the way we do business today”, and recognized as one of the Top 100 Business Books in America by Nielsen BookScan.

Author of The Parables of Business, offering business tips and advice through the art of storytelling. This collection of eleven stories helps business owners build not only their business and brand loyalty, but also employee loyalty and a mindset to do business the right way.

He is a multiple award-winning marketer and blogger; voted one of Canada’s Top 50 Marketing Blogs; and won the Hive Award for Best Social Media Blog at the South by Southwest festival.

Last week, Danny won the first annual Ear Worthy Independent podcast Awards for Best Podcast Tips Podcast.

Danny confesses to living in Port Sydney, Ontario, with his awesome wife, soccer-loving son, headstrong daughter, and two very cute little Chinese Crested dogs.

In a move that may backfire on him, Danny has invited me in August to be a guest on 5 Random Questions. That could end his streak of excellent episodes. But I know I'm in good hands with Danny.

Whether you're looking for a good laugh, some unexpected wisdom, or just an entertaining chat, 5 Random Questions is the podcast for listeners who want their ears to hear something "completely different."

As Danny Brown says: "Tune in for a mix of humor and heart, and discover something new with every episode!"
