Three Ear-Worthy Podcasts: Monica Lewinsky; Women's Sports; Yellowstone

Today, we have three ear-worthy podcasts that all have distinguishing attributes that gave them "ear time value." First, Monica Lewinsky has managed to craft a celebrity podcast that goes beyond the typical narcissistic exposure of those who are famous or infamous.

Second, a new iHeart women's sports show with Ashlyn Harris holds promise. Third, rewatch podcasts have long tails, and this new Yellowstone podcast will certainly attract the show's many fans.

Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky

Wondery has announced Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky, a new interview-based weekly podcast series hosted by activist and anti-bullying advocate, television producer and Vanity Fair contributing editor Monica Lewinsky. In her first-ever podcast, Lewinsky engages in honest, wide-ranging conversations with recognizable names, everyday folks, experts and friends about what it means to reclaim what has been lost or taken from them. Reclaiming With Monica Lewinsky debuts everywhere you get your podcasts on February 18, with new episodes available early and ad-free on Wondery+.

Wondery tells us that: "Each week, Monica Lewinsky will lead a series of unexpected conversations that go to uncharted places as she explores the ways of reclaiming threads throughout our lives."

Wondery continues: "With humor, vulnerability, and strength, Lewinsky will delve into the practical, personal, and often messy ways that people find their way back to themselves. Monica has often been at the center of a story told by others, but now, she continues finding her own public voice with Reclaiming."

Throughout the series, Lewinsky will apparently draw from her own transformative experiences, offering an insightful take on her personal journey after enduring one of the most infamous political scandals of our time.

Early guests will include actor and writer Alan Cumming, tech journalist and author Kara Swisher, actress and activist Olivia Munn, actress and writer Molly Ringwald, singer and songwriter Joanna “JoJo” Levesque and author Anne Lamott, among others.

“These are meaningful and surprising personal conversations through the prism of reclaiming," said Monica Lewinsky. "Whether it’s the Sisyphean task of redefining a co-opted narrative, re-recording a music catalog to reclaim ownership, decluttering a physical space to find freedom, or even a small moment of choosing peace over escalation in a personal argument, the way people reclaim utterly fascinates me. Reclamations can encompass loss, grief, resilience, grace and ultimately triumph. And if you're lucky, there’s some humor along the way to grease the wheel!"

Audible and Reformation will serve as the series’ sponsors at launch.

Wide Open with Ashlyn Harris

Wide Open with Ashlyn Harris is the newest iHeart Women’s Sports show that invites guests and listeners alike to open up, share their struggles and triumphs, and explore how being wide open—both on the field and in life—leads to personal and professional growth.

Each episode, Ashlyn Harris leads an unfiltered conversation with an influential figure from sports, entertainment, fashion, music, or politics, and her unique blend of candor, sincerity and boldness fosters these feelings in every conversation as guests share the moments that shaped them and struggles they’ve faced behind the scenes.

(NOTE: Why is every conversation on interview podcasts "unfiltered"? Where are the "filtered" podcasts? I'd like to listen.)

Harris, of course,
is a former pro-soccer player and 2x World Cup champion. Her debut episode features legendary American goalkeeper Tim Howard discussing his iconic career. That sounds interesting.

Tune in Mondays.

The Official Yellowstone Podcast

The Official Yellowstone Podcast is hosted radio host Bobby Bones as he dives into all things “Yellowstone,” the hit series on Paramount Network.

From in-depth episode recaps to exclusive behind-the-scenes insights, Bobby Bones is apparently going to bring fans closer to the Dutton family drama, the show’s iconic landscapes and the talented cast and crew who make it all come to life.

The Dutton family makes the Ewing family on Dallas 40 years ago look almost normal. When do they have time to take care of the cattle?

Tune in Wednesdays.
