50 Best Independent Podcasts of 2024-25 e-Book Available On Amazon

Yes, I know. This is unabashed self-promotion. I could deny it and concoct an argument full of circuitous logic and weak rationalizations.

But I won't. We have a book to sell. It's about the best indie podcasts of the last 365 days.

Picture this. You're on the beach, sunscreen applied, blanket secure, umbrella positioned to battle the sun, and the tide is just coming in. Crashing waves relax your mind, children digging for sand crabs recount tender memories, and an ocean breeze massages your skin.

All you need now is an indie podcast.

Here's the good news for podcast fans. Ear Worthy released the e-book "50 Best Independent Podcasts of 2024-25" in May, and it's selling like...well, let's not get into that now.

Here’s the essence of why we wrote this book. We want podcast fans and those who haven’t started listening to podcasts to discover the thousands of superb, independent podcasts that are just waiting to be found.

Some of these fantastic independent podcasts are hiding in plain sight. Others are either hidden due to their topic or treatment. Some get lost because they don’t fit neatly into the genre categories of the large podcast ecosystems. Have you ever noticed how these ecosystems have a slush fund genre called Arts & Culture for any show that doesn’t fit neatly into their narrowly defined categories?

If you're a regular reader of Ear Worthy, you may recognize some of the indie podcasts we recommend. But if you’re not, many of these podcasts will be a revelation to you.

The shows we recommend have all been reviewed on Ear Worthy in the last year.

The criteria to be met include being an independent podcast, part of a small podcast network, developed by a small production studio, a non-profit organization, a museum, or a quasi-governmental agency.

We must have reviewed the podcast from April 2024 to April 2025.

We have endeavored to organize these 50 podcasts by topic or genre. Sometimes, the best independent podcasts defy genre classification or comprise multiple genres.

As a reminder, being an independent podcaster is akin to climbing Mt. Everest without oxygen. Remember, Indie podcasters wear more hats than any network-supported podcaster. They are creators, writers, producers, sound engineers, I.T. troubleshooters, researchers, hosts, distribution pros, marketing gurus, public relations professionals, and, most importantly, financial backers for the podcast.

The 50 Best Podcasts are organized into seven disparate categories:

Audio Fiction, History, Entertainment, Culture, Lifestyle, Psychology, and Science, Tech, and Informational.

The e-book is currently on sale at Amazon for $2.99.

It's vacation time coming up for millions of hard-working people in the Northern Hemisphere, from Leeds to Calgary, Dortmund to Detroit, Kyoto to Manila.

Podcasts can pass the time during the To/From commute, relaxing on the beach, hiking, biking, and even napping poolside in a comfy lounge chair. Best of all, if you're forced to bring along the in-laws on vacation, you will have your earbuds in and can motion to them that you can't hear what they're saying because you are listening to 50 Best Independent Podcasts of 2024-25.

Check out the e-book 50 Best Independent Podcasts of 2024-25. When someone asks you about your summer vacation, you can admit that "the hotel was bedbug central, the restaurants never heard of food prep standards, the beach had a red tide, the all-inclusive resort was actually all-exclusive, and the airplane spent more time on the tarmac than in the air."

BUT, you then save the day by announcing that "I got to listen to 50 Best Independent Podcasts of 2024-25."
