The Road To Rediscovery Podcast: Overcoming Life's Challenges

Inspirational podcasts recharge our batteries and help us to summon the grit to take on life's biggest battles. Superb indie podcasts like The Life Shift and Multispective excel at recounting the stories of people who have been tested by life's circumstances. Joining that elite group is The Road to Rediscovery podcast.

Here's how the creator/host welcomes his listeners: "Welcome to the Road to Rediscovery.  My name is Aubrey Johnson, Podcast Creator and Host. I'm so excited for you to learn more about me, the show, and our many amazing guests."

Johnson continues: "When you reflect on the lesson from an experience in your life, do you ignore it and move on, or REDISCOVER the lesson and grow? "

Aubrey began the blog in 2014, and then started this podcast in June 2018 and has released over 300 episodes.

Aubrey explains his show: "My show features extraordinary guests from around the world who share their amazing stories of overcoming tremendous struggles and adversities, and the amazing work they're doing today in uplifting others. There's also solo episodes, where I share lessons learned from my past challenges."

This podcast wants to inspire listeners who are struggling through dark times - letting them know that they're not alone. Aubrey hopes that listeners to hear something relatable through the insights of his guests, that resonates with them and their current struggles.

Aubrey believes every person has a story to tell. Some stories serve to entertain, others to teach. He first conceptualized The Road to Rediscovery to provide a platform for these ordinary yet
extraordinary people to share their stories in the hopes of helping others who may be suffering through dark times of their own.

Stories allow people to relate to one another and the act of sharing these words, thoughts and ideas is a gift. Aubrey feels it’s an honor to be alongside his guests as they tap into incredible wells of inner strength in order to share their stories with others.

Above all, Aubrey wants his listeners and guests to know they’re not alone.

One of my favorite episodes is a recent one. Kyle Anthony Trautmann, who specializes in neuroscience-based transformation, has come a long way from surviving 44 overdoses over 11 years, and a near-fatal brain injury. Today, he's the founder of High Vibe Holonomics, having helped over 4,000 people break free from burnout and limiting beliefs.

In the episode, Kyle Trautman walked listeners through his past overdosing struggles; to his strong, devout faith leading to his transformation. Kyle also breaks down how eastern and western medicine and studies both play an effective role in human optimization. He also explains how he uses Energy Literacy and Cognitive Recalibration for creating sustainable personal and professional breakthroughs.

In an episode from September, guest Julio Rivera discussed resilience and personal development through his battles with bipolar disorder.

Since childhood, Julio Rivera has battled with bipolar disorder, CPTSD, and ADHD. Over the years, these experiences built up to the point of not only suicide ideation, but also multiple suicide attempts. Today, he’s a Writer, a Mental Health advocate, and Martial Arts Coach.

In the episode, Julio explains how body building, Jiu Jitsu, and writing became his creative outlets; even though the deeper root causes still afflicted him and were left unprocessed. He also describes the “first person” perspective of one who is bipolar and the dark depths of a suicidal mind. We also discuss his new book, Internal Jiu Jitsu: Conquering Mind and Body Resistance by Giving Way.

Aubrey Johnson has all the skills of an excellent host, with a steady, articulate voice, empathetic interviewing style, and strong narrative flow. Sound design is excellent with nicely chosen music.
