New Season Of With & For Podcast: What Does It Mean To Live Well?

On January 26, With & For, the psychology and spirituality podcast from the Thrive Center at Fuller Seminary and Great Feeling Studios (the same team behind the Webby Award-winning podcast Going Wild with Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant), is returning for a brand-new season to unpack spiritually meaningful questions. Each episode, Dr. Pam King – developmental psychologist, ordained minister, professor, and The Thrive Center’s executive director – draws on moral philosophy, virtue ethics, and spiritual traditions to explore meaning, purpose, character, and human flourishing in an age of anxiety and fragmentation.

The show's host, Pamela Ebstyne King, Ph.D. is the Peter L. Benson Professor of Applied Developmental Science and Executive Director of the Thrive Center at Fuller Seminary. A leading voice on spiritual health and human flourishing, her research explores how spirituality, purpose, and relationships enable people to thrive. As a developmental psychologist and ordained minister, Dr. King bridges theology, psychology, and everyday life—bringing insight and warmth to conversations about meaning, virtue, and what it means to live well. She is coauthor of The Reciprocating Self and Thriving with Stone Age Minds.

The Thrive Center was established in 2011 within the School of Psychology & Marriage and Family Therapy at Fuller Seminary. The center mentors future scholars and leaders in the field of psychology and theology. While they are trained in Christian theology, their empirical research engages diverse perspectives and cultures and explores spirituality broadly inside and outside religious traditions.

Dr. King says: "The Thrive Center is a translational research center that exists to catalyze a movement of human thriving, with and for others. We conduct research on cutting-edge psychological questions addressing the most pressing issues of spiritual health and thriving in a pluralistic world. We are real people with real lives and persistent hopes for wholeness and a flourishing world. To this end, we convert our research into resources designed to bring about change and spiritual health."

Bridging psychology and spiritual wisdom to help listeners thrive, With & For – a weekly, religion and spirituality podcast from The Thrive Center at Fuller Seminary and Great Feeling Studios (the same team behind the Webby Award-winning podcast Going Wild with Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant) – offers practical guidance towards spiritual health, wholeness and a life of thriving.

Hosted by Dr. Pam King, developmental psychologist, ordained minister, professor, and Thrive Center’s executive director, the podcast covers a range of topics from healthy spirituality to belonging to why morality matters with experts, scholars, and practitioners.

This season’s featured guests include, but are not limited to:

Kristin Neff, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin and author, about self-compassion as a spiritual practice.

Rosalind Picard, Sc.D., MIT professor and the 2022 International Lombardy Prize recipient, on artificial intelligence.
