The Buzz — BuzzWorthy Radio, the long-running entertainment podcast hosted by NaVell J. Lee, is celebrating its milestone 20th season this September with three major events: Lee’s appearance as a speaker at Podcast Movement NYC, the launch of a new Revenge rewatch podcast, and a Season 20 premiere conversation with Chris Hardwick.
The milestone season comes nearly two decades after Lee began podcasting and represents another major chapter for the independent entertainment-focused podcast.

Who Will Enjoy This Podcast: People concerned about the future. While the African-American community may be the primary target, I’ve found this show instructive for anyone who can claim to be a futurist.
Creator/Host: Garrison Hayes, who is an award-winning journalist, filmmaker, and creator whose work explores the intersection of history, culture, and power. Mr. Hayes is an NAACP Image Award nominee, 2X Webby Award winner, and 2025 ROOT 100 honoree.
What I love about the show: There’s a lot to like here, and I’ve only heard the first two episodes! First, Mr. Hayes is a superb podcast host. His resume says he is a journalist and filmmaker, and I'd say that he found his calling in hosting a podcast. He combines insight with analytical robustness and unique prescience. The show doesn’t overindulge in long-winded episodes, and Mr. Hayes keeps the conversation on track.
Finally, an observation. I believe About That Life matters because we can't assess the present without calculating what will happen if this “present” becomes our future. For example, based on current trends, you have to ask whether every Federal building in Washington, DC, will eventually be adorned with gold.
Recommended Episode to start listening with: Episode one is a strong start, with Mr. Hayes talking with Erika Alexander (actor and futurist), about
Sci-Fi author Octavia Butler, who seemed to predict our dystopian present over 30 years ago. But can her understanding of history help us change our future? Garrison Hayes discusses the power of radical imagination and the lasting impact of her work.
